Our loving, caring and well-trained staff is comprised of a group of teachers and aides who are at our school because they believe they are making a difference in these children’s lives. The staff is very committed to teaching your child and preparing them for a great kindergarten experience.  All of our staff has been at St. Paul’s for many years and we have a very low turn over.  We feel this says a lot about their devotion to our school and your child.

Welcome to St. Paul Community Nursery School!  My name is Denise Bedger.  In addition to being the Director of St. Paul Community Nursery School, I also teach two classes of four-year-old children.  I am very excited about helping children meet their great potential for learning and having fun in the process.
My beliefs are strong in the importance of early learning and early successes.
I feel that you are giving me a gift by allowing me the opportunity to teach your children and help them explore the world around them!

I am married with two grown children who are both married too.  I have also been blessed with three wonderful grandchildren.  More than anything, I enjoy spending time with my family.  I enjoy sewing, knitting and flower gardening when I am not busy planning activities for my preschool friends.

My name is Donna Boettger and this is my 9th year as an aide for the three-and-a-half year old class.  I am blessed to be able to share the children’s first school experience with them.  Listening, playing, learning and enjoying the school day together is a source of joy to me.  Helping and guiding them as
they grow socially and academically brings me pleasure and gives the
children confidence in themselves.

My name is Deb Ellis and currently I work as a Teacher’s Aide for Denise Bedger’s classes.  I have been with St. Paul Community Nursery School for 15 years.  Working with the four-year-olds is a great job for me.  I enjoy helping
them explore new ideas and skills.  Additionally, I enjoy sharing my love for arts and crafts with the students.  As a mother of three wonderful boys, one of whom attended St. Paul Community Nursery School, I appreciate the importance of a welcoming learning environment.  I like to reflect on the importance of the learning experience with one of my favorite quotes: “Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.”

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to our school!  My name is Mary Engle, and I teach the Monday – Tuesday class for three-year-old children and also a Wednesday-Thursday-Friday Pre-K class.  This year will be my 21st year at St. Paul.  My favorite activities with the children are reading stories, music, cooking, science experiments, and crafts.  I am married and have one son, Justin, who attended school in Golden, Colorado.  He just completed his Master’s in chemistry.  Justin also attended St. Paul Community Nursery School. I also have a 16 ½ year old dog named Pepper (just like having a two-year old at home!).  When I am not planning fun activities for the children in
my classes, I love gardening, working on my fishpond, and home decorating.

Hi, I’m Denise White and I’ve been at St. Paul Community Nursery School for
22 years.  I was a teacher’s aide for the first 6 years and have been blessed to teach the three-year-old class for the past 16 years.

The enjoyment of work each day is spent in the classroom with 14 unique children.  I love to get to know each child individually and be able to give them what they need whether it is a hug, pat on the back, or just kind words.  That is truly the joy of this job along with the excitement of making new friends and watching each child grow academically and socially throughout the school year.  I am thankful each day for the opportunity to teach these children!

My husband, Ed and I live in Lititz and have raised our children in this wonderful community.  Ed and I share our lives with our children Shannon, Shawn (alumni of St. Paul’s), daughter-in-law Megan and our dog Dexter.

Outside of the joy of teaching children, I love spending time with family and friends.  My hobbies are knitting, reading and working outdoors in the flower gardens and watching birds.
